Commercial Construction Trenching Support
Location: Calgary, AB
Project Type: Commercial Construction Support
Industry: Commercial and Institutional Construction
Customer Type: National General Contractor
Project Overview
DIGS Hydrovac provided multi-day hydrovac support to a national general contractor during a commercial construction project in Calgary's SE quadrant, centered on tremie concrete pours which is a method requiring continuous, responsive water management to keep placements safe and on schedule across multiple pour sequences.
Scope of Work
DIGS Hydrovac provided:
Hydrovac Excavation Support
Trenching Support
Slurry Management and Containment
Multi-Unit Mobilization
Site Conditions
The project ran on an active commercial construction site in Calgary's inner city with multiple trades operating simultaneously, requiring DIGS to coordinate closely around concrete pours and heavy construction traffic while keeping pace with a tight, consecutive-day pour schedule.
Execution
DIGS Hydrovac deployed multiple units and operators across several consecutive days to supply water throughout each tremie pour and keep conditions stable. Between pours, crews performed washouts of the tremie pipes to prevent concrete hardening and keep the contractor's schedule intact, hauling all slurry directly to a licensed facility for compliant disposal.
Outcome
DIGS Hydrovac maintained uninterrupted tremie pour sequences across the multi-day program with no incidents or utility conflicts, giving the general contractor reliable multi-unit support that kept a demanding urban construction schedule on track.
